Peter Housel photograph album. [ca. 1893]

These 16 photos were removed from an acidic album, in the interest of preservation. The cardboard cover of the album is labeled "Colorado 1893." In envelope #1 is a view of Judge Housel and his family at Gold Hill, Colo. (neg. #1794/35mm); he stands in front of a canvas tent with his daughter Julia and her two children. Six views in envelope #2 were taken on the plains; they show family members, grazing cattle, a wagon pulled by two horses with a smaller cart attached behind, a sod-roofed animal shelter, and a frame house near the animal shelter.
